Red Bull Thre3Style Dallas - DJs.jpg
Last night, two hours before show time, a line one hundred party goers long formed outside the legendary Lizard Lounge to experience eight of Dallas’ premier DJs rocking the party in a unique DJ battle format known as Red Bull Thre3style.

Their wait was justly rewarded.  When the event started, more than 1,000 Dallasites crowded the dance floor to enjoy this one-of-a-kind battle.  Each DJ took to the tables to find out who could really tear the house down.  In the end, DJ Joe Vega won the crown. Rounding out the top three were DJ Fisher Pryce and DJ Johnny Funk. The judges and the crowd were in agreement, as the top three were also voted crowd favorites.

“All DJs are artists.  It’s such a creative talent.  But the winner tonight, DJ Joe Vega, stood out.  Right now in Dallas, there are so many lounges and not many true dance clubs.  If tonight is any indication, I think this city is ready to dance again,” said judge DJ Horacio “El De Los Pelos Parados” from Mega 107.5FM.

Competing DJ’s, DJ Marvel, DJ Danny V, DJ Johnny Funk, DJ Fisher Pryce, DJ Loren Micheletti, DJ Matt Lamb, DJ Joe Vega and DJ Buddah Fingers, put together impressive sets featuring tunes ranging from Nirvana to Michael Jackson.  Five judges including DJ A1 from the Cannabanoids, Steve Kemble "Americas Sassiest Lifestyle Guru", Beau Bretz (lead singer of Rescue Signals),  Darrel Young (owner of Adikt Boutique), and DJ Horacio “El De Los Pelos Parados” from Mega 107.5 had the near impossible task of selecting the winners.

Finally on the slim chance all that wasn’t enough, DJ Homicide (Sugar Ray’s DJ) ended the night by playing a two-hour set that left the crowd screaming for more.
Red Bull Thre3Style is an innovative concept that gives highly skilled DJs a platform to battle, perform, gain notoriety and express themselves in a party atmosphere.  Eight DJs fight for the crowd’s favor, each with a 15 minute set that MUST contain at least three different musical genres.
Red Bull Thre3style is an international event series and will feature 14 events across the United States, culminating in the U.S. National Finals in Denver on October 7.  In addition to Dallas, other cities participating include: Charlotte, Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, Denver, Birmingham, Orlando, Phoenix, Miami, Houston, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The winner from the U.S. National Finals will advance to compete in the Global Finals in Paris, France, where they will compete against the winners from twelve countries: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Ecuador, France, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
