He has many friends, but his fans are a little demanding when it comes to requests for souvenirs… and Eero Ettala’s avoiding parties – at least until after the forthcoming Winter X Games.
What’s your favorite event, Big Air or Slopestyle?
I like slopestyle more, even though it’s a bit more nerve-wracking – more chances to blow it! [Laughs]
Do you have any new tricks ready for X Games?
Yeah, I have been working on those BS 1080 late corks and double backside rodeos.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
Not really – just trying to stay out of the parties before the competition.
What’s the most unusual thing a fan has asked you to do?
Well, I think it's pretty random when they ask for stuff during the practice; how am I supposed to ride then?
'Heikki Sorsa is always the toughest opponent, but in a good way.'
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Just do your own thing and don’t worry about what the others are doing.
Who’s the first person you’ll call if you win X Games gold?
Which character from Star Wars are you?
How many friends do you have on Facebook?
I only accept my buddies, so around 1,000.
If someone made a movie of your life, who would you want to play you?
Who’s been your toughest opponent to date?
Heikki [Sorsa] is always the toughest, but in a good way. We have a fun little battle going on.
See Eero battle it out at Winter X Games 14 from January 28–31, 2010. More at www.xgames.com
