After several weeks of rain-soaked conditions, round six of the AMA Supercross series was greeted by beautifully sunny skies and dry dirt in Anaheim’s Angel Stadium on Saturday, and the result was another great night of racing.

Decked out in pink to support breast cancer awareness night, Wil Hahn piloted his Red Bull-backed Honda CRF250R to his third podium of the season, and Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps brought home another solid top-five finish in the Supercross class. Here’s how the action unfolded…

In Lites heat number two, Hahn got off to a rough start initially, but began battling his way back into qualifying position before the race was eventually red-flagged due to a fallen rider.

Upon the restart, Wil got a much better jump out of the gate, motoring through turn number one in the second spot. After a quick battle for the lead, Hahn settled into second place where he would comfortably qualify for the main.

When the gate dropped for the Lites final, Wil rocketed out to a huge holeshot and looked to check out early. Unfortunately, he tightened up a bit while in the lead, and eventually slipped back to the third spot by the wave of the checkers. Still searching for that illustrious first win of his career, Hahn’s third podium of the series was bittersweet.

“I’m happy to be up on the podium again, but I’m really wanting that win,” Hahn told us after the race. “I rode really well all day, but I just didn’t have it during the main tonight. It’s close, though… I can feel a win coming soon.”

In the premier Supercross class, last week’s winner, Millsaps, had another solid showing, battling his way to a hard-fought fifth place finish in what would prove to be the most competitive main event of the series. The performance has positioned Millsaps securely in the fourth spot in the championship points chase, and with 11 rounds of action still to come, anything is possible!

James Stewart remains sidelined while recovering from the broken wrist he suffered in Phoenix, and Cole Seely joined him this week after dislocating his hip whie practicing last Tuesday. Seely is currently scheduled to return to Lites racing at the April 24th race in Seattle; no word on Stewart's return yet, but he's working hard to make it happen as soon as possible.

Stay tuned as the series heads east to Indianapolis next weekend.
