Red Bull athletes Kaya Turski and Grete Eliassen have kicked off Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, Colorado by taking gold and bronze, respectively, in the women's Ski Slopestyle competition.
Turski settled any lingering pre-competition nerves with a near-flawless first run which she gradually improved upon.
Indeed, her third and final attempt, which included a 270 disaster, a 450 off the cannon, a switch 900, a 540 and a switch 720 off the 68-foot “Money Booter”, earned her an unbeatable score of 96.66.

That run saw the 21-year-old from Montreal finish 11.66 points clear of her closest rival Keri Herman, while Eliassen settled into the bronze medal position, a scant 0.67 points behind.
“Last year didn't go well," said Turski, who lost a ski and finished third in '09. "It was a medal, but it was somewhat disappointing... This time I can't even explain what this means. I have been working for this my entire life. To win X Games is a dream come true.”
Eliassen, who took the silver medal last year, was the only female competitor to spin over the hitching post, and dropped a clean 900 over the Money Booter to secure her podium spot.
