Having already conquered just about every race he’s entered thus far in 2010, including a hard-fought Tecate SCORE Baja 500 win, JCR/Honda/Red Bull’s Kendall Norman decided to hit the desert over the weekend to add to his impressive string of victories.
With teammate Colton Udall by his side, the two loaded up their Sprinter van and headed out to Johnson Valley, California to tackle the District 37 Invader MC’s Desert Scramble, and Norman once again made desert racing look effortless en route to a seemingly easy win.
In typical Norman fashion, the likeable Santa Barbara native ripped a monster holeshot across the desert floor to leave the rest of the field choking on his dust. After a grueling 66 miles of slick, rocky and dry high-desert conditions, Norman took the checkers after leading wire-to-wire to put his Honda CRF450X on the top box of the podium.
“This was a really fun race, and the club did an excellent job of keeping everyone safe,” Norman said at the end of the day. “I love desert racing, so it always feels great to come out here and battle for the win.”
Be sure to check out Kendall in action at the next round of the WORCS series on September 18-19 in Devore, California, as well as the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 on November 17-21 on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.
