Anthony Napolitan made his debut in Germany’s T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds series a good one over the weekend, taking the win in both the main contest and the best trick event.

With a total of 27 international riders vying for the title in Duisburg, Napolitan made it through head-to-head elimination rounds to face Australia’s Ryan Guettler, France’s Patrick Guimez and the fellow American Rob Darden in the Final.

Darden, the defending champ from ’09, was spinning 720s on all three sets early in the night but could only manage two in his Finals run, upping the ante on one by adding an x-up. Guettler ripped out a perfect 1080 and Guimez nailed a no-footed can-can backflip, but nobody could top the bangers that Anthony put down. Leading with a flip turndown, he added a no-handed frontflip and almost nailed a 360 triple tailwhip, just missing the pedals but still riding out the landing. It was enough to pick up the points he needed to finish on top.

The Xbox 360 Best Trick contest had already gone down a few hours earlier, with Anthony also taking the win with a stretched Indian seatgrab 360.

Anthony’s hectic Dirt season is officially underway; next up is a stop in Chicago for Red Bull Stomping Ground. Keep up with him via his Twitter feed.
