Red Bull Big Tune Austin

More than two thousand gathered at The Belmont in downtown Austin for Red Bull Big Tune. This all-star invitational of battle-ready producers, beat smiths and sound-architects from across the U.S. did not disappoint and was the highlight of the night for many festival-goers. In this ultimate battle royale, producers went head-to-head in a bracket format and advanced based on crowd response.  Budo, a.k.a Josh Karp, a Seattle-born, Brooklyn-based multi instrumentalist, composer, recording artist, producer and touring musician took the prize as the captivated crowd cheered him on.

"I'm super proud and humbled, if it's possible to feel those two at once, to have had the opportunity to play my beats in front of so many people last night," said Budo.

Red Bull Big Tune is the nation’s premiere head-to-head producer battle, established to showcase the talents of emerging and established music producers.  Application phase for the 2010 tour opens April 1 at www.redbullbigtune.com. Qualifying battles will be hosted in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Ann Arbor/Detroit and Virginia Beach. The top 2 producers from each qualifying battle will advance to the national finals in Chicago this fall. The coveted prize is an opportunity to collaborate with an artist of one's choice at Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles. Past winners have collaborated with Young Buck and Nas.
