Aaron Chase is an innovator and pioneer in the world of freeride mountain biking, pushing the sport with a creative approach since its early days. He's influenced the way people ride, the way bikes and courses are built, even the way mountain bike films are put together. That's all well and good and plenty to be proud of, but what's his favorite TV show? His favorite holiday? It's hard-hitting questions like these that we're not afraid to ask. Read on to see how Aaron answered...

Favorite movie:
The Hangover. That’s the best movie I’ve seen in a long time; I could watch it every day. By the way, search Dark Night/Hangover.

Favorite book:
Too Fat to Fish. It’s the only book that I’ve read on my own. Artie Lange is one funny dude; I hope he comes back to the Stern show.

Favorite TV show:
Seinfeld, because everything in life can be retraced to a Seinfeld episode!

Favorite magazine:
Decline has been the best mag for freeride MTB. The guys over there are top notch and know what’s coming down the pipe. I have every issue since it’s been out.

Favorite song or artist:
Pink Floyd takes me to a different place. I can crank it on the plane and look out the window at the world below and go comfortably numb…

Favorite animal:
I guess this is where I talk about my dog Jackson. He is known as “the jerk” because of his never-ending energy, but I wouldn’t change a thing about him.

Favorite color:
“Sometimes Good Guys Don’t Wear White” by Minor Threat makes me think I like black.

Favorite thing to eat:
I don't know; I guess it would be grilled cheese and apple sauce. Check out my grandma, she’s the one in the Oakley thumps! Probably listening to Jay-Z.

Favorite holiday:
I don’t really like holidays all that much. It’s always more work and less of a good time. I do like Thanksgiving, though.

Favorite tech gadget:
Satellite radio has to be the best gadget, only because I used to dread driving long distances because my back would hurt. Now I listen to Howard Stern or Ellis for hours and it’s not so bad.

Favorite thing to wear:
Fox clothes. I’ve been sponsored by them for like six years so I get it all for free. I would have bought it all - but don’t tell them that.

Favorite way to indulge or treat/reward yourself:
Uh… Party? Like after a comp when everyone goes out and blows off some steam. That’s always fun.

Favorite times to get up/go to bed:
The earlier the better. I usually “hit the hay” around 10:30 p.m. and get up around 7 a.m. Between the dog and Kendall we’ll be up a few times a night. Sleep is for the birds.

Favorite place to be:
Home sweet home; I like to unwind with the wifey and play with my daughter, Kendall.

Favorite thing to spend money on:
I love my ’91 Harley Sportster 1200. I don’t spend a ton of money on it, but I did learn how to wheelie it! Yes, on the Hold on Loosely Tour, Mike Kent pulled that thing to the 12 & 6 o’clock position and opened my eyes to the wheelie. Thanks Mike!

Favorite Red Bull product:
I’m old skool, I like regular Red Bull the best. It tastes great, mixes with other drinks perfectly and does the job very well when I’m riding. My rule is when you’re at the jumps, always bring a few - I never drink alone.

Favorite time for a Red Bull:
In the morning or mid-afternoon. That’s when I reach for the “juice” but really anytime is a good time for Red Bull. I have even been known to drink a few well after my bed time.

Favorite thing about your sport:
The people for sure! They are all the coolest bunch of freaks that you would ever know. I also like that freeride is still small but everyone who has witnessed it firsthand says it’s the sickest thing they’ve ever seen. That’s always good to hear.

Favorite sport other than your own:
Skateboarding. I feel that everyone draws some kind of inspiration from skateboarding, from the style to the names of the tricks. Oh, and it’s pretty damn fun to skate an indoor 4-foot mini-ramp on a rainy day, right?

Favorite thing in your house or apartment:
My backyard ramps or basement set-up. I’m going to let the video do the talking on this one (below). Three years in the house and I’m just getting started…

Favorite people to ride with:
Yeah, I’d like to give a shout out to Adam Hauck, George Ryan and Jeff Lenosky. These are the guys I ride with on a regular basis. We have a ton of fun spots to hit and everyone brings a different dimension to the session.

Favorite thing about your life:
WOW… I guess that I’ve made it this far without having a “real” job. Damn, it’s crazy: wife, house, kid! I’m very lucky and would like to thank everyone who has helped me out along the way. Friends, family, wife and sponsors. Thanks!
