With the “silly season” upon us in the motocross world, it’s pretty much anybody’s guess as to which riders will ride for which teams in 2011. This was the case for Colorado native Andrew Short just a few days ago.

After finishing third overall in the 2010 AMA Motocross Nationals and being part of the winning Red Bull Motocross of Nations team, Shorty was without a ride for the 2011 season. Today, however, Short announced that he is ending his five-year relationship with Honda and will now be under the Red Bull KTM tent for the coming year.

“It’s exciting for me to have this change and work with good people. I know they can get me to another level, and I’m very excited for the days to come,” said Shorty.

One of the biggest advantages that Andrew will enjoy with the KTM team is the ability to work with new race director Roger DeCoster, a multi-time champion and legend in motocross racing. Shorty will compete in the AMA Supercross and Motocross series for 2011 alongside teammates Mike Alessi, Marvin Musquin and young gun Ken Roczen.

“KTM is putting in a big effort over here in America and I’m excited to be a part of it!” said Short.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Shorty all suited up in orange once the Supercross season kicks off on January 8th in Anaheim, California.
