Bones Brigade movie

Five more months. That’s how long we’re going to have to wait for a wide release of the highly-anticipated skate documentary, “Bones Brigade: An Autobiography,” according to a post on the film’s Facebook page.

The film documents the rise of the early Powell Peralta skate crew, which included skate legends Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero and Mike McGill. In addition to dominating skate competitions, the Bones Brigade was known for their ambitious videos, most notably “The Search for Animal Chin."

“Bones Brigade,” directed by Stacy Peralta, who also made “Dogtown and Z Boys," had its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January and has since been making its way across the country with special screenings.

The next screenings will be at the Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto on May 1, 2 and 6.

As for the rest of us? In a recent post on the Bones Brigade Facebook page, the filmmakers offered the first indication of when the film will go wide:

“At this time we are still considering multiple offers for distribution for the film domestically and internationally, the earliest we think the film will be available for general release will be in five months.”

That’s September. See you in line.
