Carissa Moore’s year continues to get better -- after earning the ASP Women’s World title in just her second year on the tour, surfing vans voted her the number one women’s surfer in last night’s prestigious SURFER Poll.

"I'm still grasping the situation," said a visibly shocked Moore, "but it's amazing to win this award. It's a great night in surfing and I'm so thankful for all my fans for voting for me."

Check out what SURFER had to say about Carissa:

“It was only a matter of time. Since Carissa was just a pup, she possessed a talent that was so far beyond her years that the older crop of surfers dreaded the day she would arrive on the Women’s World Tour. In just two short years, she has already won her first world title, and no one doubts that there will be more competitive victories to come for the talented Hawaiian.”

Moore wasn’t the only Red Bull surfer to score in the poll, though. Sally Fitzgibbons rounded out the top five for the women, while Julian Wilson, Mick Fanning, Jordy Smith and Bruce Irons landed in 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th (respectively) on the men’s list.
