The Red Bull Thre3Style competition continued its tour across the country with a stop in Chicago on Thursday night.
More than 800 people packed The Mid nightclub to check out six of the Midwest's top party DJs compete for supremacy. Unlike other DJ battles, the competitors in Red Bull Thre3Style must rock three musical styles in a single set without missing a beat.
Last night, DJ Mike 2600 of Minneapolis took top honors.
“It feels great to know that I can come to a city like Chicago that’s known for their DJs and rock the crowd like I did,” said Mike 2600.
Coming in a close second was Chicago local Zebo, while DJ Buck Rodgers from Indianapolis finished third. Filling out the lineup were E-Six, DJ Kwiet Storm, and DJ Intel.
In the end, Mike 2600 rocked the deck the best.
“I was having a super fun time playing my set, I’m very pleased with how I performed,” he said. “Going into the U.S. finals, I’m ready to really rock out and win the crowd.”
The national finals will be held in Orlando later this summer, with the winner returning to Chicago for the global finals.
