Round five of the AMA EnduroCross series rolled into Denver, Colorado over Halloween weekend, and Red Bull trials riding phenom Geoff Aaron walked away with a very impressive win in front of his hometown fans.

Not only was this Aaron’s first EnduroCross victory of the 2010 series, it also marked the first loss for his Red Bull teammate, Taddy Blazusiak. Blazusiak had dominated each of the first four rounds of the series prior to Denver, but thanks to Aaron’s near flawless ride in The Mile High City, the championship now goes down to the final round in Las Vegas.

Ten-time AMA National Trials champion Aaron kicked off the Denver round in style by running away with the first heat race win of the night, setting a blazing fast lap time for his competitors to chase.

When the gates dropped for the main event, Blazusiak narrowly edged out Aaron for the holeshot, but the wily veteran was persistent and put pressure on the series leader early. Bad luck struck for Taddy just moments later, as debris from the rugged course lodged itself into his front brake caliper, ultimately slowing his pace.

Aaron wasted no time as he took over the lead on lap number two of the nine-lap final. Never to be challenged, Aaron motored on to a convincing win.

"This is just amazing to get the win in front of all of my friends and family,” Aaron said after the race. “I just tried to ride smooth and not make mistakes, and it all worked out. I’m really looking forward to Vegas!”

With just 21 points separating Blazusiak and Aaron, the series finale in Las Vegas on November 20th is sure to be a barnburner, so stay tuned!
