The Rock Report keeps rock music fans posted on the latest. Check it out every Friday.
In this week’s Rock Report, Jack White officially debuts as a solo artist and the rock community gets ready for Super Bowl Sunday! Also, we have new videos from Comeback Kid and Puscifer and much more, in the Rock Report!
Puscifer's New Video
Puscifer have released the video for “Telling Ghosts,” the third single off their sophomore set “Conditions Of My Parole.” The clip features a trippy performance with different editing effects and randomly cuts to a car speeding on a highway. It comes at a perfect time because the Maynard James Keenan-led collective will hit the road in a headlining trek, which begins February 23rd at the Long Center for Performing Arts in Austin, Texas and concludes March 18th at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, California. Carina Round will provide support.
Jack White's Solo Debut
Jack White is proud to be a solo artist. About a year removed from disbanding The White Stripes, the rock musician plans to release his debut album “Blunderbuss” on April 24th through his indie label Third Man Records. “Love Interruption” has been unveiled as the single and it’s quite different than “Leck Mich Im Arsch” -- the Mozart cover he recorded with Detroit rap duo Insane Clown Posse.
In a press release, White -- who recorded, produced and mixed the effort at his Third Man Studios location in Nashville, Tennessee -- reveals what motivated him to drop a solo album. “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time, but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
Warped Tour Continues to Grow
Concert organizer Kevin Lyman has announced 44 bands thus far and named the latest six additions just a few days ago. The recently announced groups include Bangups, Ballyhoo!, The Constellations, For Today, I Am The Avalanche and Tonight Alive. Next week, Warped Tour should bloat up to 50 bands.
Comeback Kid Headlines Tour
Comeback Kid might not be on Warped Tour, but the Canadian troupe are hitting the road on a headlining tour and bringing Symptoms + Cures along for the ride. That kicks off March 18th at White Rabbit in San Antonio, Texas and wraps up April 21st at The Loft in Madison, Wisconsin. Speaking of Comeback Kid, they just released their brand new video for “Do Yourself A Favor.”
