Recently, Rajon Rondo helped refurbish 13 Boston basketball courts through the Boston’s Got Wings program, which was based off of Rondo’s steals stat for the 2010-11 NBA season. For each of Rondo’s 153 steals, Red Bull donated $500 to beautify the basketball courts. At the end of it all, a total of $76,500 was generated.
“That’s what it’s all about -- making kids smile and trying to give back to the community,” explained Rondo. “I couldn’t thank Red Bull enough and the team enough in helping to bring something like this back to the city of Boston.”
The winner will receive two tickets to The Finals on Alcatraz, airfare for himself/herself and a guest, and a hotel room in San Francisco.
Rondo now has a different project he’s working on, Red Bull King of the Rock, the ultimate 1-on-1 basketball tournament where 64 streetball players from all over the world will battle it out atop Alcatraz Prison -- better known as The Rock. The final is slated for later this summer, September 24.
To celebrate King of the Rock’s second season, Rondo is giving basketball fans the chance to watch the event in person. He is inviting one lucky person to be his guest.
Call him at (617) 849-7357 and find out how you could be chosen. The winner will receive two tickets to The Finals on Alcatraz, airfare for himself/herself and a guest, and a hotel room in San Francisco. The winner will be notified on September 9.
