The Red Bull King of the Rock 2011 saga continues, this time stopping in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, June 25th, as players from around the Pacific Northwest converged to see who had the one-on-one skills necessary to become one of the 64 finalists at Alcatraz this September.

Fittingly, PDX's native son, 6’ 9" Kevin Ford II stepped up and won the day by dominating the competition at Portland's Unthank Park Courts. The 24-year-old hometown hero has played at Jefferson High School, Oral Roberts University and even did a pro stint in Romania last summer.

James Thorn from Tacoma, Washington took second place for the Portland qualifier, also earning his spot in the finals on the Rock later in the year. Thorn made it to the finals in 2010 as well, so this will be his second appearance in The Yard on Alcatraz.

Stay tuned for the next MC's Report and find out who else will earn a hard-won place at this year's finals!
