Mountain biking has grown to the point where it has spawned many disciplines, from freeride and big-mountain adventuring to dirt jumping and slopestyle to downhill racing.
"Strength in Numbers," a new documentary from Anthill Films and co-produced by Red Bull Media House, aims to connect all walks of life within the mountain-bike community -- not just across disciplines, but across continents.
The film was shot on location in Nepal, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, California, Utah and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park in British Columbia, with an all-star cast that includes Red Bull athletes Brandon Semenuk, Gee Atherton, Danny MacAskill, René Wildhaber, Anthony Messere and Darren Berrecloth.
"Beautifully crafted,” said Morgan Meredith, Bike magazine's publisher, after a screening in April. “In a world of three-minute web edits it’s refreshing to see a long-form, painstakingly shaped movie about the personalities and the worldwide reach of two wheels on dirt."
“Strength in Numbers” is currently on a screening tour around the world ahead of its free online premiere on May 24 at 12:00 p.m. PST/3:00 p.m. EST (and the film will continue to be available online for free until 8:00 p.m. PST). DVD and BluRay copies and iTunes downloads will be available the following day.
