Yeasayer Announce “Fragrant World” LP
Brooklyn-based band Yeasayer announced Tuesday that its “Fragrant World” album will be released on August 21 through the label Secretly Canadian. We have long been waiting for the follow-up to 2010’s blistering “Odd Blood.” Fair warning, the press release warns that “Fragrant World” is not a “dish of pop rocks,” but rather “something much weirder and darker.” We say bring it on! Radiohead Gets the 8-bit Treatment

Composer Quinton Sung has transformed both Radiohead’s “OK Computer” and minimalist “Kid A” (above) into 8-bit chiptune video-game music. It’s an astonishing feat that’s surprisingly listenable -- even beyond the point where the novelty wears off.

Folkster heroes Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros have been touring heavily since the release of their 2009 debut “Up From Below,” mainly due to the international success of smash single “Home.” In between all that touring, the group has managed to record their sophomore follow-up “Here,” now streaming at NPR.
