Cat Power Announces Album, Streams New Song

On the heels of Fiona Apple’s return to the spotlight, folk femme Cat Power is set to release “Sun” on September 4. It will be her first album of original material since “The Greatest” in 2006. "Sun" comes on the heels of a break-up with longtime boyfriend and actor Giovanni Ribisi. Listen to the first single off the album, “Ruin," and check out Cat's new haircut.

Wale Jumps On Skrillex Track, Awesomeness Ensues

The gang over at Hypetrak is streaming a radio cut of Wale spitting over a production by dubstep aficionado Skrillex. Bassnectar and Lupe Fiasco teamed up earlier this year to combine hip-hop and dubstep on Bassnectar’s menacing lead single “Vava Voom.” With Wale and Skrillex joining forces, it looks like the cross-pollination of the two genres is just beginning.

Shia LaBeouf Stars In Sigur Rós Video

If you were wondering what movie superstar Shia LaBeouf was up to, now you’ve got your answer. The “Transformers” actor was stripping down, getting raw and showing it all in the new eight-minute video for Sigur Rós' “Fjögur Píanó,” which is clearly NSFW. The track is taken from the Icelandic band's latest album “Valtari.” Sigur Rós will tour in support of the album later this summer.

Metric Live At Red Bull Sound Space

Over at Exclaim, the Daredevil Christopher Wright are streaming their latest LP, “The Nature Of Things,” in full. It’s an effort that combines classical voice training with that folky indie twang we’ve come to adore. “The Nature Of Things” drops next week on June 26. .
