Latest Sufjan Stevens EP Streaming In Full
Fresh to the streaming airwaves is “Beak & Claw” via Anticon, the collaborative EP by Sufjan Stevens, producer and composer Son Lux and rapper Serengeti. The trio is aptly calling themselves s / s / s.
Want to get a taste of this odd assortment of talent? Head over to the slightly confusing website of Danish radio station VPRO where “Beak & Claw” is streaming in full. The opening track “Museum Day” might make you feel like you are able to enter into an indie version of Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” Not quite.
Gift of Gab Streams New Album, Shares Details of Health Issues
Would you expect something like a little kidney failure to slow down an MC as talented as Blackalicious’ Gift of Gab? No way! In a statement released today, Gab explained that within the last seven weeks, he had been diagnosed and has since gone on dialysis. Luckily, a donor is stepping up to give Gab a new kidney. Would you do the same for someone? Of course you would. You’re a good person.
Gab rounded out the statement by saying that Blackalicious (the duo featuring the man himself and producer/DJ Chief XCel) are hard at work on a new album. You might remember that no one has heard anything from the duo since 2005’s “The Craft.”
On March 27, Gift of Gab will drop his latest solo album “The Next Logical Progression” via Quannum Projects. To celebrate, NPR is streaming the album in its entirety. As the rapper points out in his statement, it’s “some of [his] best work.”

Real Estate Stream “Exactly Nothing” B-Side
You know we love some Real Estate ‘round these parts. It’s just something about their ‘90s alternative rock take on the Beach Boys that really soothes us. On April 10, the band will release the “Easy” single via Domino with the track below -- the quick and easy “Exactly Nothing” -- as a b-side. For now, stream away.
Canyons Get Remix Treatment Via Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner
Describing the Australian producer duo of Canyons is a tough task. It’s kinda like house music for folksters or hippies -- very organic, very granola, very good -- and, unlike those subcultures, put together without pretension. Here, the duo get the remix treatment on standout track “When I See You Again.”
And it’s great. But when the hell is that new Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ album coming out?
