Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has been hot in the news cycle after Sunday’s game against the Knicks, in which he delivered an historic triple-double performance -- his fourth of the season and second in three games.
With 18 points, 20 assists and 17 rebounds, Rondo -- the only player in the league with multiple triple-doubles this season -- became the first player to log a triple-double with at least 17 in each category since Magic Johnson did it back in 1989.
So how did he do it? We may never know the exact circumstances, but there’s a certain Rochester, New York, native who might like to think he helped warm Rondo up for the feat.

Through a Red Bull trivia challenge featured at 7-Elevens around the country, 25-year-old NAVY employee David Edwards won a trip to Boston to hang out with Rondo at the Celtics practice facility, where the pair went head-to-head in two games of H.O.R.S.E.
With shots like a toss over the backboard and a few left-handers standing on one leg, Rondo was able to take both friendly games, perhaps stoking the fire for his tirade against the Knicks. You never know…
