Saturday marked day two of the Red Bull LAN in New York City, where three professional gaming teams have taken a break from the real world to hone their skills in a top-of-the-line gaming facility.

StatusQuo, Kiaeneto and Warriors got back into the swing of things early on June 25th, with Kiaeneto besting Warriors in the first series of the day. As the jet-lag wore off and the pwnage piled on, the teams still managed to stay in step with one another much like they had all day Friday, with no one team being the standout favorite on Saturday.

The Extras

Gaming personalities DMaq and Jo Garcia (pictured below) provided commentary for the stream that was available from 5 p.m. -10 p.m. at RedBullUSA.com/LAN. From DMaq’s raps to Garcia’s brief interviews with the gamers, the dynamic duo had no problem stoking the ebb and flow of the weekend both in and out of match play.

Just a stone’s throw away, jokes and freestyles littered the lounge area where the gamers took a break from the action on the rare occasion that they weren’t analyzing their latest match footage or making notes of their opponents’ patterns and natural tendencies in The War Room. This section of the Red Bull Space in particular saw more action than it did the previous day, as the transitions from game to game became more and more seamless, allowing the teams to have slightly more time to recoup between each series.

The Stats

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins (pictured at top) was the first gamer to reach the 1,000th kill milestone, with the additional notch in his belt being especially representative of just how well he’s performed thus far at the Red Bull LAN. Not to be outdone, however, was Michael “Strongside” Cavanaugh, who earned Saturday’s MVP honors in a manner that can only be described as “handily.” Ian “Enable” Wyatt still hung on to the best kill-to-death ratio of the weekend, sitting comfortably at 1.2 by end of match play Saturday evening.

More Goodies

With the teams spending more than 12 hours each day at the Red Bull LAN, there’s plenty going on behind the scenes during the seven hours not being streamed that cameras have been committing to film. Daily recaps, installments of the Top 10 Plays, and much, much more can be found at the official Red Bull LAN site.
