Red Bull Music Academy has finalized its participants for the 2012 Class, which will descend upon New York City from September 30 - November 2. A total of 62 participants from 29 countries on six continents will delve into two weeks of lectures from musical luminaries, work together in custom-built bedroom studios and perform in the Big Apple’s best clubs and music halls.
Who would have thought that when the Academy started in 1998 in Berlin that it would, 14 years later, attract more than 4,000 applications from 93 countries? The facts and figures from this year’s applications were so staggering that mere words do not do the statistics justice.
