What do the Black Keys' drummer Patrick Carney and Red Bull Thre3Style San Diego winner Chris Cutz have in common? Both aren't fans of Justin Bieber.

Years DJing: 14
Location: San Diego

First album/song you ever bought?

'Songs In The Key Of Life' by Stevie Wonder.

Vinyl vs. Digital?

I'm most definitely a vinyl lover at heart. But to stay current in this DJ game, you have to go digital.

Best song to get the crowd moving?

'Shout' by The Isley Brothers.

What's the 'Don't Stop Believing' of 2013?

The year is still young, but right now the jam seems to be 'All Gold Everything' by Trinidad James.

When do you play your ‘Don’t Stop Believing’? (Middle, Towards the end, the very end)

It can honestly be at any of those times to be real with you. Most of the time, I would say I play it towards the end.

How important is it to know the regions musical tastes?

Very important! No doubt about it. You always need to know what songs are big in other regions of the country. For example, the hottest song in San Diego might not even be played on the radio in New York. You wouldn't want to drop that song in New York clubs because no one would get it, you feel me?!

How many records/mp3s do you own?

Lets just say... a lot.

Dream venue?

I don't really have a dream venue. Any time I get paid to do what I love is a blessing – it doesn’t matter the venue. To play on a worldwide level would be a dream of mine, for sure.

How do you start your set?

It really depends on the night and where I’m playing. If the place is packed and people are ready to party, then I'm keeping it hype all night.

Dream collaboration?

I would love to work with legends like Prince, Stevie Wonder, or Chaka Khan. On a hip-hop trip, I would enjoy to collaborate with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Drake.

Most annoying song request?

Anything by Justin Bieber.

What was the riskiest mash up you’ve ever done?

It’s been so long since the mash up thing was relevant that I don't really remember. Now that I think about it, I do recall throwing Jay Z's '99 Problems' over AC/DC's 'Back In Black' Instrumental. I wouldn't call that risky though.

What’s your guilty favorite song?

I don't know if I have a particular song that stands out, but I am a fan of all things disco. I know some people find it cheesy but I love it.

Do you know how to play any instruments?

I do know how to play a little piano, but nothing serious.
