Music Videos and Songs
The Strokes have just released a music video for their latest single “Taken For A Fool.” Throughout the clip, the New York troupe enter into another dimension where multiple versions of the band members perform on spinning stage as neon lights flash in the background.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will unveil their new song “The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie” on July 18. It will serve as the leadoff single from the California band’s tenth studio album “I’m With You,” which is due out August 30.
The Weezer Cruise
Weezer are bringing fans a festival on the sea. The rock band will throw “The Weezer Cruise” from January 19-23, 2012. It will be a four-day voyage that sails from Miami to Cozumel and back.
Aside from Weezer and 2,500 fans, “The Weezer Cruise” will feature 15 other artists -- including Dinosaur Jr. and Sleeper Agent -- performing on the ship in both the day and the night. There will be non-stop concerts, games, activities and even a day on the beaches of Cozumel. Tickets start at $599. For more information, head to TheWeezerCruise.com and reserve a spot.
Against Me!: Black and White Crosses
Against Me! recently announced the re-release of their fifth studio album “White Crosses” and its new accompanying half “Black Crosses.” Now, they are fueling the deluxe edition with their brand spanking new video “Because Of The Shame.” The clip pays homage to Common Grounds -- a Gainesville, Florida institution that closed its doors after hosting local and national artists for 15 years.
Beady Eye Tour
Last week, Noel Gallagher broke the news about his new solo project. This week, his brother Liam has fired back with an announcement of his own! His group Beady Eye is set to embark on a North American tour this fall. It launches on November 9 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and wraps up December 9 at Terminal 5 in New York City. Sure, it’s brief, but we’ll take what we can get. Your move, Noel.
Beady Eye isn’t the only band hitting the North American roads in the autumn. The Arctic Monkeys and Smith Westerns will embark on tour in the fall as well! It kicks off September 23 at The Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, and will conclude October 18 at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Joy Formidable Tours with Foo
Joy Formidable is about to fight foo with joy! The Welsh indie rock group will open up for the Foo Fighters for a string of November tour dates. They’ll join them on November 7 at the Arena of Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia, and work their way up the east coast until they finish on November 16 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Joy Formidable will be supporting their EP “Roarities.”
