Yellowcard Ready for Summer
Yellowcard, just one year removed from releasing their critically acclaimed album “When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes,” have just released “Always Summer,” the first track from their forthcoming untitled eighth album. The energetic pop-punk love song arrives just in time both the start of summer and beginning of Warped Tour, which the Florida pop-rockers are co-headlining.
Beck Teams With Jack White
Beck might not have a release date or title for his next album, but he'll be dropping a pair of songs through Jack White's label Third Man Records on May 28. White produced and contributed instrumentation to both tracks (“I Just Started Hating Some People Today” and b-side “Blue Randy”) from his Nashville studio. Only two questions remain: when will Beck release his new album, and which artist will the White Stripe collaborate with next?
Reptar’s Surreal Video for "Sebastian"
Reptar, from Athens, Georgia, has just unveiled the official video for “Sebastian,” the latest single off their debut album “Body Faucet,” and it is by far one of the more interesting videos released so far this year. Directed by Deadhorse, Ben Fries and Jesse Cain, the surreal clip portrays St. Sebastian's end of days, as the Christian martyr is tied to a tree, shot by arrows and, later, clubbed to death. Check the video out below -- it's not as gruesome as it sounds.
Austin City Limits Festival Lineup
The Black Keys, Jack White, Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the Austin City Limits Festival at Zilker Park in Austin, October 12-14. Weezer and Florence and the Machine will also play the three-day festival.
Atlas Genius Snag Deal
Australian indie rock trio Atlas Genius, which just announced a deal with Warner Bros., will drop their EP debut “Through The Glass” on June 12. The three-track EP is fueled by the band's smooth single “Trojans,” which sold over 45,000 downloads in the United States.
And By Love Talk EPs
And By Love is ready to spread the love and their new candy coated pop-rock music. Based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the dynamic quartet will unveil their third EP, self-titled, on June 19.
Although the group is already two EPs deep, guitarist Wes Lauterbach feels that their upcoming four-track collection is the most accurate portrayal of the band.
“This EP is the best summation of what ABL can do,” he said in an interview. “Each song shows a different quality of the band. We've put more time and effort into this EP than anything else in our lives and we are very proud of what we've got out of it!”
The group is currently producing a video for the first single “Leave It A Memory.” They've also teased fans with a cover of Gotye's “Somebody That I Used To Know,” which is available for free download on their Facebook.
