On Saturday, August 20th, it was time for Norfolk to show and prove -- time to put Virginia on the map. With 64 entrants ranging from overseas pro players and former college stars to local legends, the 2011 Red Bull King of the Rock qualifier in Norfolk was one of the best yet.
Players had come to Lafayette Park from neighboring states and throughout the Northeast, but the final four ended up being an all-Virginian lineup. The last game of the day came down to former VCU player Michael Anderson and scrappy Norfolk native Dalane Finley, who played for the Texas Wesleyan Rams.
The two traded long three-pointers, but ultimately Anderson had the height advantage and better shooting. Both players will be at the world finals next month, and both stand a good chance at becoming this year's Red Bull King of the Rock. Who'll take the crown?
