Indisputably the heaviest hitters in French electronic music since Daft Punk, production duo Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspar Augé, a.k.a. Justice, have helmed the rise of the Ed Banger-branded flavor of more-is-more electronic music, starting with their remix for Simian Mobile Disco’s 'We Are Your Friends.'
After handling remix duties for the likes of Daft Punk, N*E*R*D, Franz Ferdinand, Soulwax and even Britney, Justice released their highly anticipated debut album ‘†’ in 2007, making even more waves with the stark, controversial videos that came with it.
In the following years, they went stadium-sized (Grammy Award included), capturing the surreal experience of this period in their half doc-, half mockumentary 'A Cross The Universe.' With their sophomore album 'Audio, Video, Disco' at the end of 2011, Justice took to progressive rock leanings to move beyond the buzz surrounding what became known as nu-rave, again bringing previously unseen strains of rockism into electronic music.
Earlier this year, Justice stopped by Red Bull Music Academy Radio to talk about their musical careers and spin some of their favorite tracks. Check it out...
