The 2011 Red Bull King of the Rock tournament rolled into Dallas last weekend. Basketball talent and spectators took over the Reverchon Recreational Center for a day of one-on-one heat and some Southern humidity.
Hometown star Andre Emmett looked like a good bet for taking the crown, having played college ball for Texas Tech and pro for the Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies. But in his last match of the day he went up against another Dallas local, Damien Lolar. Despite Emmett's impressive NBA credentials, he wasn't able to contain the 6' 4" Lolar.
Lolar won the final game of the day, taking the Dallas title, but both players will advance to the world finals on Alcatraz. Stay tuned to see if one of them is this year's Red Bull King of the Rock!
