Too early to start thinking about the weekend? Not when we're talking about Memorial Day Weekend, and the Zumiez Couch Tour kicks off in Seattle on Saturday.
For the next month or so, Zumiez Couch Tour will hit 12 cities from coast to coast with a mix of skating demos, live bands and the Best Foot Forward amateur competittion. Best of all, everything is free.
In Seattle, Plan B will host the festivities with skaters from its team (including Red Bull athletes Ryan Sheckler and Torey Pudwill) providing demos and the bands The Classic Crime and The Daytraders providing sounds. On Monday, the same lineup will hit Portland, Oregon.
According to organizers, the ever-elusive Rodney Mullen -- along with the Almost Skate team -- will make an appearance at the Sacramento stop on June 2. In Baltimore, the Girl Skateboard team, including Eric Koston, Mike Mo Capaldi and Sean Malto, will be serving up demos.
Some other highlights definitely include Team Volcom, which will be on hand at the West Nyack, New York, stop on June 21 and the finale in Minneapolis, which is expected to bring out the Supra/KR3W team skaters, such as Chad Muska, Terry Kennedy and Lizard King.
And if you can't make any of the stops in person, you can follow all the action via webcast on the Zumiez Couch Tour site. Meanwhile, check out the action from last year...
