Two indie bands from the Midwest (Young Jesus and Brighton, MA) are participating in one national showdown along the famed Route 66. They will be challenging each other on and off the stage along the seven-day journey. Five tour stops total will pit these bands against each other and they will be judged on various criteria along the way. The competition kicks off Friday night at Kinetic Playground in Chicago.
Bands can earn up to 15 points per show based on criteria including performance, interaction with crowd, fan base and overall "rock" factor. The band who successfully garners enough points at the end of the tour wins the opportunity to record at the state-of-the-art Red Bull Recording Studio in Los Angeles.
