- Formula One hit the new Austin track Circuit of the Americas for the first time Friday for two practice sessions. Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets in both sessions, with a lap time of 1m 38.125s in practice one and a 1m 37.718s in practice two. Vettel's rival in the championship, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, was third in both sessions: 1m 40.337s in the first session and 1m 38.483s in the second.
