- Vettel qualified on pole position for his 100th career Formula One grand prix. He would get a clean start but would not be able to shake McLaren's Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton would eventually pass Vettel on lap 42 to take the lead. Vettel would settle for second -- enough to pad his lead in the championship to 13 points.
