About Daron

Daron Rahlves is the most decorated male World Cup downhiller in U.S. history, earning a 2011 induction into the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. His career highlights include the World Championship in Super G, 28 World Cup podiums (12 wins), 7 U.S. National Championships, and, most famously, a 2003 victory at Austria’s Hahnenkamm Downhill, ski racing’s most venerated prize.

After retiring from the U.S. Ski Team in 2006, “D” switched his focus to Ski Cross, claiming Skier X gold at the 2008 Winter X Games and competing in the 2010 Olympics. The father of two kicked off the 2010–11 season with a win at the Red Bull Hütten Rallye, a six-cross free-for-all, and he’s launched his own competition series, Rahlves’ Banzai Tour. Daron’s big-mountain skills continue to keep him in front of the cameras, and in 2010 he won the Powder Video Award for Best Line.
