About Bill

You won't see the best conditioned MiG-17F in the world behind the Iron Curtain. The best Cold War era combat jet these days is based in Camarillo, Calif. with Bill Reesman in the cockpit. A former combat aviator in Vietnam with more than 55 years experience flying, Bill performs the world's only nighttime jet-fighter pyrotechnic act, a.k.a. the "Red Bull Meteor."  With over 1,000 feet of fire coming off each wing, his jet looks like a shooting star and astonishes spectators 30 miles away.

"Air shows aren't really about flying," he says. "They're about evoking emotion." And those feelings can be up close and personal, too. "I have a risk-oriented personality," he says. "Risk and stress can be positive things. They let you know you're alive."
