About Honda Red Bull Racing
Over the 37-year history of AMA National Motocross and Supercross, Honda has won more races and championships than any other manufacturer: a record 57 AMA Motocross and Supercross titles.
In the 2008 AMA Supercross Series, Andrew Short finished third overall and teammate Davi Millsaps was fourth. The AMA Motocross Championship saw Short finish third, his second-consecutive third-place showing in the series. Millsaps was 11th after missing the last half of the outdoor season to injury. Ivan Tedesco, with three Lites titles to his credit, missed most of the Supercross series to injury, yet soldiered through rehab in the Motocross season to finish 13th. Ben Townley, the 2007 AMA East Supercross Lites champ, was out of both series with injuries. All four riders look to 2009 to bounce back and challenge for wins and regular visits to the podium.
A milestone in the history of American Honda’s racing program was the signing of the 2008 Women’s Motocross Champion, Ashley Fiolek. Fiolek made her professional racing debut in 2008 after winning more than 12 titles in a successful amateur-racing career. The 18-year-old racer, who is deaf, will represent the Honda Red Bull Racing team in the 2009 WMA Women’s Motocross Championship, X Games 15 competition and other select events.
