- Episode Five of The Atherton Project kicks off in Vernon, New Jersey for the US Open. It’s a constantly changing, notoriously challenging track, which pushes the riders to their very limits. Off-track, Gee shares his slightly dubious American cable TV picks. Then it’s on to Fort William in Scotland for Round Three of the UCI World Cup. The pressure mounts – it’s a huge event for the Athertons on a physically demanding course, with masses of family and friends present. None of the Athertons have ever won at Fort William, a goal every British rider fights for, but there’s a first time for everything…
