Red Bull's Backcountry Bombshells project was about a few things. Basically, it broke down to four of the top women's shredders coming together for a dream trip, complete with fresh powder, SnowCats, a Heli -- and more singing and fun than the Canadian backcountry has seen in some time...
When Kristi Leskinen came to Oakley and Red Bull with the idea that women's skiing and snowboarding needed a little more PR, we agreed that the ladies needed more props. With that, the Backcountry Bombshells ball got rolling.
The idea: Take two top female skiiers (Kristi the "park rat" and big mountain rider, Andrea Binning) and two top women snowboarders (Anne-Flore Marxer and Marie-France Roy), and give them the backcountry trip of a lifetime. Two weeks just chasing fresh powder, untouched terrain and the sickest lines around British Columbia. Throw in some luxury resorts, jaw-dropping scenery and the ultimate treat - a heli - and you've got yourself a recipe that would have any shredder salivating.
We're happy to share the results with you. Check out the teaser videos on this site for a taste of what you can see when Fuel TV airs their Backcountry Bombshells coverage (Nov 2007 - April 2008), or Subscribe to the podcast from iTunes now!
Peruse the view from atop Selkirk Wilderness as the girls drop in on "the best skiing of their lives." Watch as Kristi gets caught in a slide she calls "the scariest moment she's been through yet." See just how much fun these women had on the trip, singing and dancing their way in-between hitting both the hot tub and some huge jumps.
And of course there's no shortage of action - it really is line after line, jump after jump, cliff after cliff. If you're one of those people getting ready for winter in July, you're definitely going to be jealous you weren't on this trip yourself.
