After 17 rounds of knock-down, drag-out racing, no one can doubt the resurgence of the Honda regime. Finishing 2-3-4 in the points standings, the Honda Red Riders were responsible for six total wins in the Supercross class.

More specifically, the relatively young, Honda Red Bull stable consisting of Davi Millsaps and Andrew Short stepped up to the plate in the 2008 Supercross season by putting their Honda machines on the podium week in and week out.

Going into the last round of the series, the two riders were separated by one-point. Andrew Short's consistent finishes and Davi Millsaps' stunning wins made this battle between teammates truely special.

In the afternoon practice, Chad Reed made sure everyone knew he was not playing it safe, by setting the fastest lap of the day.

Title challenger, Kevin Windham, struck back, by taking the second heat win, riding aggresively to pass and gap Chad Reed.

Honda Red Bull riders, Davi Millsaps and Andrew Short put on a clinic in the first heat, finishing 1-2 respectively.

Main Event

Honda dominance in the heat races translated to a Honda freight train when the gate dropped for the main event. All three Honda riders charged to the first corner, led by Davi Millsaps.

Kevin Windham pressured early on, eager to get out and put a gap on Chad Reed. Millsaps' lead would last until lap 3 when Windham got a good run through the whoops and made a clean pass.

Next thing he knew, Davi found himself on the ground, and remounted in eigth. This miscue allowed teammate Andrew Short into second with Chad Reed closing in from third.

Even though, mathematically a third would be good enough for the championship, Chad Reed pushed hard to pass Short. He finally settled on parking Short in a corner, perhaps settling a score from last week. Chad looked ahead and found himself up with Windham in no time.

The eventual champion coasted to a win after waltzing past Windham. The finishing order of the night would be the finishing order of the championship: Reed, Windham and Short. Millsaps made his way back to fifth which translated into fourth overall on the season.

Next up: Outdoors! Both Chad Reed and Kevin Windham are on supercross only contracts, meaning Honda Red Bull riders Short and Millsaps are looking good heading into Glen Helen, where they will be rejoined by teammates Ivan Tedesco and Ben Townley.
