BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR BEST COLLEGE TEAM ON THE SNOW TO BE DETERMINED ON MARCH 14
The tension has been building all winter, and on March 14 the line will finally be drawn in the sand...or snow, rather. College teams from throughout the country will once again battle it out at Red Bull Snow Warz to determine the most skilled school on snow. Teams consisting of 4-6 college student skiers and snowboarders will face off at Mammoth Mountain on a progressive slope style course in a unique jam-session format. Both team and individual awards will be given and riders will be judged on style, magnitude and overall difficulty of tricks. Top pro riders and industry leaders will judge the event, so teams had better bring their A game, as bragging rights and a soon-to-be announced grand prize are on the line.
This is the fourth year of Red Bull Snow Warz, and the first time the event has been held at scenic Mammoth Mountain. In 2008, 48 teams from more than 30 schools went to war at Northstar-at-TahoeTM Resort, with a total of 233 students competing. The University of Nevada-Reno completely dominated the event, taking home top honors as two teams from the school battled it out for first and second place. The winning team took home a prize package of snow gear from Capita Snowboards and received an all-expense paid trip to a Red Bull event of their choice. This year the school is looking to repeat their victory and once again own the snow.
